Trump’s Crypto Venture and Chinese AI Models Come Together Through USD1 Payment Deal
Washington/Hong Kong: World Liberty Financial’s USD1 stablecoin is now being accepted as a payment option on WorldClaw, a Hong Kong-based AI platform that provides access to dozens of artificial intelligence models developed by both Chinese and US technology companies. The development is drawing attention because several Chinese firms whose models are available on the platform have faced scrutiny or restrictions from US authorities.
WorldClaw offers access to 90 AI models
According to details reported by Reuters, WorldClaw’s platform provides access to around 90 AI models, of which 43 were identified as models developed by Chinese companies.
The Chinese-developed models available through the platform include products associated with DeepSeek, Alibaba, Baidu, Z.ai and Moonshot. WorldClaw also provides access to AI models developed by US companies, including OpenAI and Anthropic.
The platform's acceptance of USD1 gives World Liberty Financial's stablecoin another use case in the growing AI services market.
Why the partnership is attracting US attention
The development has gained significance because some of the Chinese companies whose AI models are available through WorldClaw have faced scrutiny from US authorities over national-security, military-affiliation or intellectual-property concerns.
That creates an unusual connection between a Trump-family-backed cryptocurrency venture and an AI platform distributing models from Chinese technology companies that have come under US government scrutiny.
However, Reuters found no indication that the collaboration violates US law. The financial terms of the relationship between World Liberty and WorldClaw have also not been determined.
Trump family has 38% stake in World Liberty
World Liberty Financial is closely associated with the Trump family. According to the report, members of the family hold a 38% stake in the crypto venture.
There is also a personnel connection between the two businesses. Ryan Fang, an executive at World Liberty Financial, serves as an external adviser to WorldClaw, adding another link between the cryptocurrency and AI ventures.
USD1 expands into AI payments
The development marks another step in the expansion of USD1 beyond traditional cryptocurrency trading and digital-asset transactions. By being accepted on an AI platform, the stablecoin can potentially be used to pay for access to AI models and related services.
The partnership also highlights how cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence and geopolitical technology concerns are increasingly intersecting. The presence of Chinese AI models on a platform that accepts a Trump-linked stablecoin is likely to keep the relationship under scrutiny, particularly as Washington continues to focus on national-security risks associated with Chinese technology.
